It appears the Torched Courts -> Ruined Square boundary does not crash 100% of the time as I have previously thought. If you are having the same issue as me, since I don't know what caused it to work, my suggestion would be to keep trying to load the area. I'm simply looking for an answer to the issue in the title.ĮDIT 2: Upon entering The Ruined Square on what is probably around the 8th attempt I actually got the area to load. The reasons vary, and are not relevant to this thread. I don't know if GGG staff read this subreddit, but if they come across this post, more and more people are getting tired of Microsoft's bullshit, please consider a Linux client.ĮDIT: It seems many in here are questioning why some of us are choosing to play on Linux. Please take the time to help if you can, because I literally can't move on in the game at this point. At this point, I'm not sure what to try next. My card is an AMD R9 series card and should be Vulkan compatable as per (API)#Compatibility. I've tried the instructions here: but get the same exact error. As my title says, I'd like some help getting the DirectX 11 version to run. I feel like the limited memory of DirectX 9 is the problem, as most of the error popups I get on crashing evolve the MAX_INTEGER value in some way. Basically the game crashes every time I try to leave the Torched Courts (going to Oriath square). However I'm running into a point that crashes every time without exception.

I can deal with the lower performance and even the frequent crashes (around 2-4 per hour of play) until an update to Steam Proton renders the DirectX 11 version playable OR GGG decides to release a native Linux client. The DirectX 9Ex version works just fine through Steam Proton. So if it isn't obvious from the title, I'm a Linux user.
